Q. Are you originally from Hyderabad?
We are originally from Karimnagar. Later on expanded our operations to Hyderabad and Andhra
Q. What has been the best part of your journey?
The journey itself has been the most rewarding. I have been associated with the poultry industry for nearly 50 years, and this coming March will mark that milestone.
It has been fascinating to witness the industry’s transformation from small backyard poultry farming to today’s highly advanced, technology-driven operations.
Interestingly, joining the poultry industry was never part of a grand plan. After graduating from the College of Agriculture, Nagpur, I was searching for a job at a time when employment opportunities were limited. My father asked me to spend some time at our factory until I found a suitable government job. Those opportunities took many years to materialize, and before I knew it, poultry had become my profession and my life’s work.
Q. Why did you choose the poultry and livestock profession?
To be honest, I did not consciously choose it. The profession chose me. I often say I simply got “stuck” here, but looking back, I believe it was destiny. What began as a temporary arrangement gradually became a lifelong passion and career.
Q. Compared to other big players in the industry, how do you feel your presence is different?
I believe my presence in the industry is closely linked to the journey of our organisation. Having been part of this industry for nearly five decades, I have witnessed its evolution through every phase, from its early years to today’s modern, technology-driven era.
As one of the oldest surviving companies, established in 1967, we have experienced both the highs and the lows of the poultry industry. That long journey has given us resilience, perspective and the ability to adapt with changing times. Personally, I believe consistency, experience and staying committed to the industry over so many years are what distinguish my contribution.
Q. Please tell us about your family.
We are four brothers. My younger brother and I look after the business, while another brother manages a medical college.
I have two daughters. My elder daughter is a doctor based in the United States, and my younger daughter manages a poultry breeding farm near Hyderabad. I am proud that the family continues to contribute to different fields with dedication and commitment.
Q. What is your dream for the next generation entering this business?
My advice to the next generation is simple. Diversify. The poultry industry offers many opportunities beyond traditional business models. I encourage young entrepreneurs to explore new areas, embrace innovation and pursue whatever they believe holds promise for the future.
Q. What is your favourite food?
I enjoy anything that is both healthy and tasty. However, whenever I eat out, chicken kebabs are my first choice.
Q. What are your hobbies?
Sports have always been an important part of my life. I represented my university in table tennis and was also a member of the university basketball team.
After sustaining injuries while playing badminton and tennis, I shifted my focus to endurance sports. Today, I enjoy long-distance cycling and open-water swimming, both of which keep me physically active and mentally refreshed.
Q. Is there anything else you would like to add?
I feel fortunate to have spent nearly five decades in an industry that has given me far more than I ever expected. Watching Indian poultry grow into a modern, technology-driven sector has been deeply satisfying and rewarding.
My hope is that the industry continues to innovate, uphold quality and create opportunities for future generations. If we remain committed to learning, adapting and working together, I believe the best years of Indian poultry are still ahead.
