DAIRY VISION CONCLAVE 2023

The DAIRY VISION CONCLAVE of PDFA was held at The Hyatt, Ludhiana on 3 rd. February 2023; in conjunction with the PDFA Expo that was held from 3 – 5 February at Jagraon.

The objective of the session was to present a well-defined vision for the dairy industry for 2023, taking into consideration both external as well as local factors with the dairy farmer’s interests being the focal point.

The presenter welcomed the distinguished guests from many parts of the world and from many states of India who had take the time and effort to be present. Amongst the guests present were Mr. Marccotonis, Mr Matthew and Mr Curtis MacNeil from Canada who had kindly consented to judge the cattle at the expo, representatives of All Feed Millers Association, PDS and team, President JeFo Jean Fontaine who had come from Canada and his team, teams from Adessio, Lallemand, Berg+Schmidt, CCPA, Cargill, Paras spice, Rana Sugar, Tiwana feeds, Milkfed, GADVASU, livestock technology and our esteemed Committee Members of PDFA and Progressive farmers from other states of India.

 There were insightful talks presented by 8 speakers, all closely associated with the dairy industry. Shri Daljit Singh Gill, President, PDFA, welcomed each speaker to the Dias with a colorful bouquet of fresh flowers.

Shri Neeraj, MD De Laval spoke about the impact of Technology on the dairy industry.

Shri Ashok, President of All Feed Millers Association shared his thoughts on feed solutions and costs and impact on farmers.

Shri Baljit Singh Redhu’s vast experience in dealing with milk processing on an industrial scale with Lakshya Food which he leads; and the impact on farmers by policies struck a deep chord on the audience.

Shri Param Singh, Founder and CEO Mooo Farms, spoke on the need for White Revolution 2.0 and how his organization is leading in this at the micro and small farmer level.

Shri Bhave, MD Berg+ Schmidt and Executive Member, CLEFMA, with his vast experience in fats and its, spoke of its efficacy in nutrition.

Dr. MS Gill, Research Director, GADVASU, spoke on the role of his organization in reaching out to farmers with updates and vital information related to the well-being of the animals.

Shri Sangha, ex-MD Milk fed shared from his vast experience in the industry on dairy practices.

Shri Daljit Singh Gill, President, PDFA spoke on the perspective of the dairy industry from the farmers point of view and the challenges faced by them.

This was followed by a question-and-answer session where there were numerous requests from visitors from other states requesting PDFA to help them in their dairy endeavors. President, Shri Daljit Singh Gill assured them of all assistance. 

The session ended with a token of appreciation for all speakers by MrKuntal Desai, Advisor PDS and a vote of thanks.

An entertaining and energetic ‘Bhangra’ cultural dance enlivened the proceedings of the evening that was much appreciated by visitors from overseas and other regions of India, followed by dinner.
