National Chicken Day, held on November 16, 2024, in memory of the esteemed Padmashree Dr. B. V. Rao, was a resounding success. This year marked the fourth consecutive celebration of the day, which has now become an annual tradition.
With tremendous support from the poultry industry, local businesses, and communities across the country, National Chicken Day saw a participation of approximately 900 retail outlets across India, including key regions such as West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Karnataka. These shops showcased vibrant banners and offered special promotions, including discounts on chicken and complimentary egg supplies, to customers in honor of the occasion.
The response from consumers has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the growing appreciation for the contributions made by Padmashree Dr. B. V. Rao to the Indian poultry industry. Dr. Rao’s pioneering work in the field of poultry farming continues to inspire many, and National Chicken Day has become an important event to recognize and celebrate these efforts.
For the first time this year, the Assam Association and North India Broiler joined forces with Venkys India in supporting the event, further expanding its reach and impact. Their collaboration played a key role in making this year’s celebrations even more significant, bringing together industry leaders and poultry enthusiasts from across the nation.
The collective effort of all stakeholders – from state associations to retail partners and consumers – has made this event a true success.
