The biggest event for poultry and swine farming in Brazil ended last Thursday, but business accounting continues. Surveys carried out by the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) indicate that business projections carried out during the International Poultry and Swine Industry (SIAVS) should exceed US$ 800 million.

The numbers result exclusively from the participation of 48 agro-industries producing and exporting poultry, pork, eggs, dairy products, duck, farmed fish and genetic material, in an action inserted in SIAVS from the partnership between ABPA and the Brazilian Promotion Agency of Exports and Investments (ApexBrasil). Deals closed by exhibitors of equipment, feed, biological inputs, certifiers and other event participants are not considered.

According to the companies consulted, the deals made and the contacts established during the event should result in US$ 880.3 million in exports in the next 12 months. In just the three days of the event, according to the associated companies, the businesses established reached US$ 544.3 million.

According to ABPA, SIAVS attracted importers from the markets of Colombia, Peru, Denmark, South Korea, Malaysia, South Africa, Philippines, Mexico, Thailand, Nigeria, Iraq, Qatar, Dominican Republic, Germany and the United States to the capital of São Paulo. , in addition to traders and other traditional customers of products exported by Brazil.

In addition, during this year’s SIAVS, the ABPA and ApexBrasil partnership took 28 foreign journalists to São Paulo through the Image Project, 15 importers through the Buyer Project and 15 opinion makers from strategic markets through the Opinion Trainers Project.

“SIAVS was a historic milestone for the animal protein production chain in several aspects, whether political, technical and commercial. The numbers and consultations showed that the promotion of business and the promotion of the generation of foreign exchange earnings for the production chains far exceeded expectations. The volume of business projected and carried out in the corridors of Anhembi will have a significant positive impact on the trade balance of poultry and swine farming in Brazil”, says the president of ABPA, Ricardo Santin.

SIAVS 2022 was held between the 9th and 11th of August, at Anhembi Parque, in São Paulo (SP). Find out more at www.siavs.com.br.
