Dr Parminder Singh working as Professor in the Directorate of Extension Education has been selected as Additional Director of Extension Education in Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana.
He served briefly M/s Pfizer India as Veterinary Service Officer and then joined PAU, Ludhiana as Assistant Professor Animal Nutrition (Extension) in 1993. He was promoted as Associate Professor in 2003 and Professor in 2009 in GADVASU.
He has published 61 research articles, eleven manuals and three books. He has participated in 28 National and International conferences. He has guided 6 MVSc and 2 PhD students. He has more than 250 popular articles to his credit. He has given more than 1000 expert lectures to farmers, 165 invited lectures by different developing agencies. He has delivered 26 radio and 20 TV talks. He has organized around 70 farmer’s trainings. He has coordinated 32 feed manufacturing courses conducted by university and dairy development Punjab. He is coordinating Dairy, Layer and Broiler Farmer’s meet at the university campus. He also coordinates Pashu Palan Mela being held twice a year in the university.
He is member of several professional societies. He has won best poster and oral presentation awards. He was bestowed by CLFMA Achievement Award 2016, ANSI Best Extensionist Award 2022 and Fellow of ANSI 2024. Besides academics, he remained involved in sports activities. He was captain of the university cricket team and is qualified cricket umpire by Punjab Cricket Association.
