In our journey we visited many faces with our poultry industry legends, and one among them is Dr. S. Chandra – CEO Chandra Associates
Q1: Are you originally from Pune?
Ans: No, I am from Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh, but I have been in Maharashtra since July 1975.
Q2: What is the best thing you like about your journey?
Ans: Being honest, faithful, and working hard with loyalty.
Q3: What has been the right motivation throughout your journey from the beginning till now?
Ans: To give the best from your learning and experience to ensure optimum performance for your clients.
Q4: Why did you choose the poultry/livestock profession?
Ans: I had no other option left. By God’s grace, I had good guides and advisors like Dr. Netke and Mr. V.N. Dubey who helped me enter the poultry profession.
Q5: As compared to other big industry players in the country, how is your organization (Chandra Associates)?
Ans: Chandra Associates is the only consultancy company focused on feed mills and feed mill management. It started in 2006 after I had served the feed industry for 31 years (1975–2006), working with VH Group, Tata Feeds, Laxmi Feeds, Anichem, Venky’s, IB Group, and Rainbow Feeds.
As a consultant, I have been fortunate to work with feed companies in India, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Nigeria, and with pharma companies like Exotic Biosolutions and Vinayak Ingredients from 2006 to 2022.
Q6: Tell us about your family.
Ans:
- Wife: Late Mrs. Chandrarani
- Son: Anurag; Daughter-in-law: Anubhuti; Grandson: Ayyan (Based in Pune)
- Daughter: Payal; Son-in-law: Ravi; Grandson: Aarush (Based in Hyderabad)
Q7: What is your current roadmap?
Ans: No specific roadmap. I am retired and relaxing with old group friends.
Q8: What is your message to the next generation entering this industry?
Ans: Be technically sound, solve all problems practically, and work hard with dedication and discipline.
Q9: Favourite eatery?
Ans:
- Veg: Pure desi cuisine
- Non-veg: Fish, lamb, and Chinese food
Q10: Hobbies
Ans: Making friends and being loyal to them, being a good host, helping people in all situations, cooking, and of course, travelling.
